
Spiced Yellow Dal Delight

Instructions
1. Wash dal thoroughly and cook with 3 cups of water and turmeric powder in a pressure cooker for 3-4 whistles, or until soft. Mash lightly.
2. In a separate small pan, heat ghee or oil for tempering.
3. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then add cumin seeds and asafoetida.
4. Add minced garlic and green chili. Sauté for a minute until fragrant.
5. Add chopped tomato and cook until soft.
6. Pour the tempering over the cooked dal. Add salt and mix well.
7. Simmer for 5 minutes, then garnish with fresh coriander. Serve hot.
