Instructions
1. In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and grated pear/apple (if using). Add the thinly sliced beef and toss to coat completely. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator.
2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat until shimmering. Working in batches, add the marinated beef in a single layer without overcrowding the pan.
3. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side, stirring until beef is caramelized and cooked through. Remove cooked beef and repeat with remaining batches.
4. Transfer all the cooked bulgogi back to the skillet/pan and toss briefly to re-coat in any remaining sauce. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
5. Serve hot with steamed rice and kimchi or other Korean side dishes.
